Forever praying’s Weblog

Just another WordPress.com weblog

Floor plans August 27, 2008

Top View. Each square equals 6 inches.

This is the back corner of the basement.  There is enough room to put a dinning room table as a craft table on the other side of “C.”

A – Extra desk. 42″ W x 18″ D x 36″ H

-At the 36″ height i can stand or i can use an adjustable height chair and sit comfortably.

B – Corner shelf.

-Mainly tool storage.  There is a very cool image in my mind, but i am having trouble figuring out how to draw a comprehensive draft on paper.

C – Main desk. 48″ W x 18″ D x 36″ H

-Connect wire from shelf B and D to hang completed, or near completed  pages for inspiration.

Front View Of "D," "E" and Side View of "F"

Front View of "D" and"E." Side of "F."

D – Shelf.

-lots of storage

E – Computer Desk. 30″ W x 18″ D 36″ H

Front View

Front View Of "F" and "G"F - Shelf.

- Mainly for printer and cricut. The rolling cart (G) slides right in it’s slot.

G -Cart with wheels.  28″ W x 12″ D x 28″ H

- Contains theme embellishments.  If it need to it rolls out to the other desks, or under them if needed.

Sorry if i do not make sense.  I am watching America’s Got Talent while typing this. :) If i need to clear anything thing up, let me know.  Otherwise, i will keep the updates coming as i continue to brain storm.  I will also start to include more about the storage on the shelves.

Scrapbook Room… plans and dreams begin here. August 27, 2008

Concepts I plan to incorporate:

1. Modular pieces

-when we move, someday, they can be rearranged to fit another space.

2. Working spaces.

-The more room to spread the more mess I make.  It needs to be big enough to get work done, yet concise. Keeping in mind I like to work on more than one page at a time, and like to see the ones I have finished or am close to finishing.

-I am not sure I want to stand all the time, but not sure i want to sit either.

-i don’t want to stare at a wall.  Plus the basement it is a cement wall, i can not even paint it!

-Computer desk, with room for a printer and eventually a cricut.

-Sewing desk and storage somewhere in the area.

3. Storage

-I want everything close.  I will settle on having tools really close. Basic embellishments that inspire me semi-close, and theme embellishments like birthday and Christmas items can be the farthest.

-Paper needs to be kept all together and a separate system to organize scrap paper.

I am going to put these ideas on paper and create the floor plan to fit the corner of the basement.  Then create more detail on the shelves and such.  I hope to post later tonight.

I am working on adding a page with my favorite books. I love to read, so i could be forever adding to this page. I enjoy fiction books the most. Preferably Sci-fi / fantasy. I love stories that start off like the world we live in now and then take a non-traditional twist. In college i had a few friends that were into this genre, and after hearing more about the books they were reading i decided to stick with I think children’s books, many in the 8-12 years, and others in the young adult category. These authors are trying to spark young readers minds and not throw in swear words, or sexual explicit things.

The exception to the rule would be Ted Dekker. I have read enough books that i can figure out the ending relatively quickly. (not that i do not enjoy it anyway, it is still the process of getting there that is fun.) However, the first book i read by him, Thr3e, kept me in question the whole way. I am hooked, and plan on owning all of his books.

The other amazing thing about this guy is how fast he comes out with each book. Not to mention how many books are connected! He fist came out with The Circle Trilogy (btw, very gripping and great!) then Showdown, which connected slightly and was the first book into another series/trilogy. The the Lost Books series (4 books) came out. They took part of the Circle trilogy and expanded it, also including a lot of the Showdown book as well. Just an amazing mind…

I just finished the Lost Books, and need to start Skin, which is the second book in the series with Showdown. It has been out for awhile, but i just got it recently. I am excited to see if it connects to anything. Either way i am sure it will be a good stand alone book.

Rueben is the trouble maker. He gets corrected all the time… “Rueben, off,” “Rueben, leave it,” “Rueben, quiet,” “Rueben James NO!” When he gets really unruly we lay him on his side and make him stay until he has relaxed (as seen on the Dog Whisperer) I have been noticing that Kiwi thinks she can get away with anything because we are always after Rueben. She thinks she can go on the sofa any time she wants (we only let them up on command.) It takes 2 to 4 times of saying off before she will listen, even with a stare down. The stare down use to get her to listen with no problems.

After reading another blog and seeing pics of her placing dog biscuits on her dogs nose and paws. i decided that kiwi needed to add some tricks to her repertoire. Because Rueben is a intellectual dog he gets board with chew toys, so before getting Kiwi we taught him many tricks. Like shake, other paw (shaking,) sit, down, roll over, twirl, jump, bark(he growls a little,) big bark (he actually barks,) bow, give me a kiss, and with a little help he stands up, sits pretty, and stands up and twirls. Kiwi sits, down, rolls over, and fetches.

Aaron is trying to teach her to shake her head because she naturally does it on her own. We want to teacher her to crawl because she will lay down and shooch towards food. We just can not get her to do it without food. She gets so excited for food that when you say down she will lay down and roll over automatically! We are working on that…

Well, i am off to give Kiwi some attention and hopefully become one step close to crawling!

I am excited to get started blogging. I have thought about it for while, and finally get around to it. I cant wait to get to know some people with similar interest as me. I moved to this small town last December and do not know many people my age besides my husband, let alone anyone that likes dogs, scrapbooking, or fish keeping as much as me. So it is time to start checking out other’s blogs!
